I believe that effective storytelling connects us to people, new
ideas, inspires change, and ultimately influences audiences to
take action. I rely on creative storytelling to humanize complex
issues and move the needle forward.
I place local voices at the heart of communications. I listen to
local expertise and amplify messages that communities want
shared. Working in collaboration with partners and communities, I
learn from their experiences to ensure communications are
respectful, fit for purpose, and meet their needs.

Recent Success
With critical minerals anticipated to be top of mind at the 2025
G7 Summit, I led IMPACT’s communications strategy calling for a
commitment to support artisanal miners. IMPACT’s
communications and advocacy efforts were successful.
The G7 Critical Minerals Action Plan included a commitment to
support responsible mining practices and the improvement of
artisanal mining. The Action Plan provides IMPACT and partner
organizations with a vital opportunity to engage G7 members
around the interests of artisanal mining communities.
Putting Artisanal Mining on the G7 Agenda
As the conflict in eastern DRC intensified in early 2025, IMPACT
enabled its crisis communications measures. I consulted with
senior leadership and local teams (DRC, Uganda, Burundi) to
develop a public statement. Due to the extremely sensitive and
politically-complex nature of the situation, any messaging
needed to prioritize staff safety and project continuity. IMPACT
had to remain evidence-based and true to its values, without
contributing to tension in the region.
IMPACT’s statement in mid-February managed to navigate the
complex situation successfully, immediately gaining traction
with stakeholders. The DRC’s Minister of Mines contacted
IMPACT, calling it an “excellent statement.” Within the week,
numerous private sector actors issued public statements on
their supply chain due diligence in response to IMPACT’s call for
actors to stop sourcing from the region.
